California is out of money, handing out IOU's in place of checks, and will now be hit with all this extra expense.

If his estate is valued at $500 million, why can't his family or his estate pick up the tab? Since his death, there have been 400,000 purchased of his most popular songs. Since he willed everything to his mother, she should earmark a buck or so from each sale to cover his "final" expenses.

I read the day of his death Jacksons mother was talking to a nanny that use to work for him about his children and then, ask the nanny if she would know where he would have hid money in the house. unusual question for a mom to ask on the day of such a sudden death. His dad had to be called on because he was acting as if it was a field day.
I don't believe the family members will even consider spending any of their own money toward the expences of having a memorial service. Jackson had more or less been the bread winner for the whole family since he was 4 yrs- I'm sure it has gone through some of their minds - What are we going to do now.

It was surprising to see a clip of the award show broadcast on BET were the actor Jamie Foxx ranted that "this black man, he is ours" he belongs to us." or words to that effect. With that attitude,there was enough money sitting in the audience,they can help fork up the money to pay for any and all expences for a memorial service. But they won't

They've probably got Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton talking to their contacts in Washington about helping out with expences.

Last night, on the eve of child-molestation charges being filed against him, Michael Jackson

converted to Islam, reports the New York Post.
According to the paper, the pop star became a member of Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam, and the conversion came with a shakeup in his personal staff.
The Post says Jermaine Jackson, one of Michael's brothers became a Muslim in 1989 and has been trying to win favor with his eccentric sibling. Jermaine reportedly brought Leonard F. Muhammad, Farrakhan's chief of staff into Michael's inner circle as a "bodyguard."
